Bluedream Puppies
Our breeding program focuses on temperament and health. Parents are carefully chosen for balanced temperament and correct type and are OFA certified (or equivalent), CERF and clear of Von Willibrand's disease. Puppies are raised in our home with care and love. Bluedream puppies are vaccinated, microchipped and free of parasites prior to leaving for their new homes.
If you are looking for your next companion, show, agility or obedience prospect, please read our requirements carefully before inquiring about a puppy. We pride ourselves in producing quality, not quantity! We carefully screen potential homes and offer complete support throughout the lifetime of your Bluedream puppy!

Is a Shetland Sheepdog the right breed for you?
The Shetland Sheepdog, or "Sheltie" as it is commonly called, is essentially a working Collie in miniature. A rough-coated, longhaired working dog, he is alert, intensely loyal and highly trainable and is known as a devoted, docile dog with a keen sense of intelligence and understanding. Agile and sturdy, the Sheltie is one of the most successful obedience breeds, but also excels in agility, herding and conformation. The dense, double coat can be black, blue merle or sable, marked with varying amounts of white and/or tan and requires regular brushing.
Like the Collie, the Sheltie’s history traces back to the Border Collie of Scotland, which, after being transported to the Shetland Islands and crossed with small, intelligent, longhaired breeds, was eventually reduced to miniature proportions. Over time, subsequent crosses were made with Collies. The breed worked as farm helpers and home protectors, watching over crofters’ cottages, flocks and herds from invaders of all kinds.
Shelties love their families, but may be reserved at first with strangers. As a herding dog, they can be inclined to bark at and "herd" people. Shelties are highly intelligent and can be busy! They thrive on activity and most Shelties enjoy some kind of job, whether it be obedience or agility training, or being taught to fetch their owner's slippers! At Bluedream we strive to produce well balanced dogs that will adapt to many living situations if given proper exercise. Our role, as a breeder, is to help you choose a puppy that will fit your lifestyle and the activities you wish to pursue.
