From a very young age, I adored all animals - farm and companion alike - and dreamed that I would work near them. In 1984, I finished my degree in Bio-Agronomy, specializing in Animal husbandry at Laval University and a part of my dream was accomplished: I would be working closely with farm animals. One year before my graduation, I worked in a horse stable, a job I loved. It was there I met my first dog with blue merle colouring - an Australian Shepherd.
I began to research different breeds and their specific backgrounds and characteristics and finally, in 1989, was in possession of my first Shetland Sheepdog. After "Ficelle" died, much too young from a heartbreaking accident, I raised a Labrador puppy for Mira (Quebec Association for Guide Dogs for the Blind). The challenges I was able to overcome with that puppy made me very proud when she passed her tests and was selected as a Guide Dog. However, the separation was difficult for me and I made the decision that my next dog would pass through life with me.

As I searched for my perfect companion, I continued to work and learn as a groomer and trainer. I finally found my perfect companion - a Shetland Sheepdog with my favorite Blue Merle colouring. Prunelle taught me so much and I am very happy to have been able to share 10 wonderful years with her before bone cancer claimed her in 2003. Bluedream Kennel is named for her, and I strive to produce quality puppies that can bring as much joy to their families as Prunelle did for me.
